Enjoy the Sun everyone!

Well done for surviving winter! We hope your bike made it through the salt, grit and snow in alive. Spring is here and the workshop has been very busy. It is great to have the garage doors open again and not to … Continue reading
Good news, if any Members of Pedallers’ Arms were thinking of joining CTC, they can now do so for a reduced price (£16), by visiting this link and entering our group membership number, just ask us for it. You don’t get the magazine but you do help CTC which is a great charity supporting cycling.
A Pedallers’ member brought in an interesting bike to the workshop a few days ago. While she was travelling around Ghana she found a bamboo bicycle workshop. In a laid back haze of smoke the Ghanaian were building beautiful bamboo frames, held together by epoxy resin. The aim of the workshop is to create sustainable transport in rural Ghana and help combat the high unemployment levels, seems good to us!
We’d really like to let more people hear about Pedallers’ Arms. We are pretty stretched for time but one way of doing it is to ask you to tell your friends about us, tell strangers about us, and interact with us on the internet. Posting reviews about us on any website, sharing links on social media and generally pushing Pedallers’ will help raise our internet profile so more people find out about us.
If you have any other ideas then let us know.

Beijing Bicycle transplants the theme of the classic Italian movie “Bicycle Thieves” to modern day China. In a city of a million bicycles Guei, a young man from the country, is making his way in the capital by working as a bicycle courier. From his wage he is gradually paying off the cost of his bike. Just as he is about to make the final payment, it is stolen and he finds himself suddenly without a job and devoid of status. He embarks on a frantic search to get it back

This Sunday 17th March we are open from 12-4pm for our monthly women and trans session. This is a safe space where you can bring your bike down to work on. All mechanics on duty are women/trans.

Here are the new flyers:
We also have a new poster which we are hoping to get put up in all the council One-Stop Centres in Leeds, if you know anywhere else we can put them please let us know.

Lamberto Maggiorani plays Antonio, an unemployed man who finds a coveted job that requires a bicycle. When it is stolen on his first day of work, Antonio and his young son Bruno (Enzo Staiola) begin a frantic search, learning valuable lessons along the way. The movie focuses on both the relationship between the father and the son and the larger framework of poverty and unemployment in postwar Italy.
