Pedallers’ Arms – COVID-19 Closure

Dear Pedallers’ members, supporters and visitors,

In light of the escalating COVID-19 pandemic we have taken the difficult decision to close Pedallers’ Arms with immediate effect. Whilst we appreciate that bike transport is especially important at this time, we have weighed up the potential costs/benefits and decided that the most responsible thing to do is close.
We are obviously not medical experts but from the evidence available we understand that the most effective way to slow the spread of the virus is by ‘social distancing’ i.e. reducing contacts with other people, to reduce the risk of virus transmission.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will reopen as soon as possible.

For the small number of people who have a bike currently stored at Pedallers, we will be in touch with you next week to arrange collection – or if you prefer you can leave it in the workshop until we reopen.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

We encourage everyone to stay safe, follow medical advice and look out for support groups which are popping up around Leeds.

An Evening with Emily Chappell: Where There’s a Will

On Friday 13th December 2019 we will be hosting a talk with Emily Chappell. This will take place 18:30 – 20:30. Due to the level of interest we will be holding this event at the Hyde Park Book Club, 27 – 29 Headingley Lane, Leeds, LS6 1BLEmily Chappell. This event is FREE but please book a place so that we have an idea of numbers and can contact you with details of any venue changes.

Emily Chappell is an author, adventurer and advocate, known for her long-distance bicycle journeys and the words with which she shares them. Emily visited us in 2016 to share stories from her first book, What Goes Around, and this time she will tell the improbable story of how she ended up winning the 4,000km Transcontinental race across Europe, read aloud from Where There’s A Will, and answer questions about every aspect of cycling and writing books.

Thu 28th March – Unexpectedly closed

Unfortunately we are closed this Thursday (28th March).  We had some unexpected issues so we would be to short staffed to open, sorry about that!  For the past few months the Thursday has been quiet so if your wanted to come and do some repair work then it would be a good day.  This is a one off and other than this our opening hours remain the same: Mon, Wed, Thu 4 – 8pm.

Call to remove stored bikes!

Do you have a bike stored at Pedallers?

If yes, please come and collect it!

We need to clear out all the ‘project bikes’ that are stored upstairs by the end of the year.

If you have not collected your bike by Thursday 15th November, we will have to remove all remaining bikes.

All bikes left uncollected will be recycled and/or put towards a good cause.

Thanks
Pedallers’ Arms team
