Volunteer shortage

On Thu June 21st we will be closed due to a staff shortage.

In fact we are a little short of volunteers at Pedallers’ Arms so we’re recruiting new people. Would you be interested in an opportunity to volunteer one 4-hour shift per week, on either Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, 4 – 8pm? We’re looking for people who are:

  • Reliable: able commit to making the shift most weeks.
  • Personable: keen to impart knowledge of cycle repair to a wide range of people from many walks of life with patience.
  • Enthusiastic about the aims and ethos of Pedallers’
  • Willingness to ask other mechanics when your unsure and experience in the art of bike repair, especially at tasks commonly needed on older bikes.

Pedallers’ relies completely on volunteers and since its creation in 2010 has been 100% volunteer controlled and run. For various reasons some of our established volunteer mechanics cannot work regular shifts so we’re looking for some new people. A different group of people works on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday so it’s worth dropping-in on the shift you’re interested in to find out more, as well as having a read of our Volunteering page.
